Born and raised in Jamaica, Bert Williams moved to England when he was 14. After a number of years serving in the Air Force he moved to Brighton where he now researches the cities rich cultural history - these are his sounds
Over the last two months we have been working with ten older residents of Brighton and Hove, helping them to create sonic scrapbooks filled with the sounds that make up their past and present as an exciting part of the Celebrating Age festival.
The world in which we live is full of sound, much of which goes un-noticed or taken for granted. My Noisy Matchbox explores these sounds and the personal stories behind them.
