Ian Sainsbury looks at the launch of Hotel Watch in Portsmouth
First there was Neighbourhood Watch and a few other besides. Well now in Portsmouth there is Hotel Watch. Ian Sainsbury went along to the launch to find out more about it and the plans for the scheme which could see it eventually roll out across not only the city but the rest of Hampshire in the UK.
Hampshire Constabulary's Plodcast looking at policing issues in Hampshire UK
Ian Sainsbury takes a look at various aspects of policing in Hampshire. In the first episode he looks at the setting up of Hampshire Constabulary's first SmartWater Zone in Portsmouth. SmartWater is a bit like DNA and is used to mark property in a very unique way. It has had a big effect on deterring criminals in other parts of the UK where it's been used as it can be traced back easily.
In the second one Ian finds out about the Front Office Design Competition which has been running in Portsmouth which could see changes to reception areas of police stations across the county to help make them more welcoming and citizen focused.
