Tom House on www. hardcore-troubadours.com
Songs and conversation with Tom House (www.mysongwriters.com/TomHouse/TomHouse.htm). A very social podcast in which we talk about politics, Southern Literature, the Nashville music scene in the 70s, poetry, books and record labels. There's a lack of ice tinkling in the background here, but we make up for it by popping open beer cans. Tom plays sort of traditional bluegrassy folk. He has an incredible old-timey sound and some very thoughtful well written lyrics. I think we could have spent several more hours just hanging out and talking to him.
Search for the Last of the Hard-core Troubadours is two chicks, Mimi and Cricket, who live in Nashville and love country music.
Search for the Last of the Hard-core TroubadoursWho We AreWe're two chicks, Mimi and Cricket, who live in Nashville and love country music. We've covered the scene in New York, Seattle and Montreal. Now we've come to the source, ready to bring authentic country music back to the rest of the world.
What We DoWe search out the unsigned, the under-promoted, the talented acts outside the mainstream, and we write about them on our site, www.hardcore-troubadours.com. So everyone can find the real country gold.
We're also filling in the gaps of the country music past, reviewing and recommending a broad range of country artists from the past 100 years. We cover industry news, encourage independent bands, make podcasts of new music and local musicians, and interview bands.
What We CoverAlternative country, Americana, bluegrass, country punk, cowboy music, cowpunk, folk , indie country, insurgent country, outlaw country, progressive country, roots rock, singer-songwriter, Texas swing, traditional, Western swing, and anything else that twangs just right.
Who We're Talking ToOur readers are men and women, 18-50 years old. The indie rock scene has been exploding and alt.country is coming back in new and exciting ways. People who love music are always looking for something different and we give them a road map to music with a little twang and buzz.
